Blis Appoints Adam Johnston as Chief Technology Officer
Johnston is a seasoned technologist with intimate knowledge of advertising technology and big data. In his 15 years’ experience, he has held senior technical roles at Exchange Labs, VCCP, Tribal DDB, Agency Republic and AKQA.
“I am incredibly excited to be joining Blis at this point in their business expansion,” says Johnston. “Blis is operating in a great space, with a highly compelling platform for advertisers to reach their audiences, and I will be looking closely at the Blis data set and how we can continue to further develop a market-leading platform over the next five years. I’m fortunate to join an already great team of developers and data scientists.”
Data, an expanding element of Blis’ capabilities, will be a key focus – Johnston and the team will work on scaling up data projects and sourcing additional data partners.
Johnston is based in the firm’s London office, and will report to Greg Isbister, CEO and Founder of Blis.
“Adam’s addition enables Blis to accelerate product innovation, whilst continually providing a best-in-class offering to our clients,” says Isbister. “His experience in media technology and managing specialist adtech and data science teams is a huge asset to our business.”
Blis works with over 400 of the largest global brands across all major industries, including McDonald’s, Oracle, American Express, HSBC, Telefonica, Samsung, BMW, Spotify, Warner Bros. and more. The UK headquartered company was established in 2004, bringing audience location data and consumer targeting expertise to brands on a global scale.
As part of its global expansion, the company appointed Harry Dewhirst, Co-Founder of adtech firms Amobee and RingRing Media, to its executive team and Board of Directors in July. Adtech industry leader Nick Ballard joined the team as Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand, in September.
